PSG has now claimed the season-opening trophy on fourteen separate times.
The Parisian giants needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.
The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the showdown between the Ligue 1 winners and the Coupe de France winners after the French winger opened the scoring in the opening stages.
However, Marseille fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. Initially, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the final moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping decisive kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.
In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to complete a 4-1 shootout victory.
Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the past 13 years.
